Dennis McIntyre to be the featured fly tyer on Wednesday, February 1st!

Would you look at those beetles!!!  Denny Mac's beetles are downright genius, and you can have a chance to see them being tied for yourself.  These caught his eye in the 2011 Winter edition of Fly Tyer magazine for those of you that have subscriptions.  The article summed these bad boys up best by saying "They look good on your line and in your fly box!".  The crew kicks off the fly tying evenings at 6pm....

Thursday, February 2nd: Captain Wilson Conspiracy

The Captain Wilson Conspiracy, features pianist Keaton Wilson, Jeff Stickney, trumpet and flugelhorn,  and Steve Kalling on doublebass.  The Conspiracy plays jazz from all eras, deeply influenced by the contemplative sensibilities of classic post-bop performers as well as contemporary and world music performers, all the while emphasizing the role of improvisation and group interplay as the fundamental elements of jazz.

Saturday, February 4th: Pinegrass

Pinegrass has been playing weekly since 1988. The over-all sound of the band is a result of the individual influences and passions of each player. The common denominator for all Pinegrass members is to play each number with feeling - they strive to play good tunes, the way they're "supposed" to be played. You will hear traditional Bluegrass played "true" to the original (mostly), and a bit of Swing, Dylan and whatever else strikes the fancy of the band-mates at the moment.

Members are John Joyner, fiddle and vocals; Bill Neaves, guitar and vocals, Chad Fadely Mandolin; Jack Mauer, banjo, dobro and vocals; and Ted Lowe, bass and vocals.

Tidbit: "Pinegrass" (scientific name: Calamagrostis Rubescens) is a native grass

Thursday, February 9th: David Boone

For more than a decade, David Boone has been entertaining the theatres, cafes, coffeehouses and clubs of the Pacific Northwest. With a solid foot in the folk tradition of storytelling, Boone effortlessly straddles the fence between pop, rock and blues without ever compromising originality or authenticity. Seeing Boone live is stepping into his personal diary and openly exploring his doubts, beliefs, spirituality & romance with the weight that each deserves.

Boone stems from the lineage of Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and more recently, Jack Johnson and Counting Crows. His music is intricate, yet balanced, rhythm and melody – striking a chord with the roots of folk rock. Sometimes humorous, sometimes philosophical, but always relevant, Boone is like poetry put to music--a true voice for the modern, wandering and wondering soul.  Find out more @ http://www.davidboonemusic.com
